KCAT CAN: Still glad to be 'Sick'
Still glad to be 'sick'
by Maria Kathrina Lopez Yarza
March 19, 2012
In 2008, I wrote a blog entry entitled: “I’m Glad To Be A Sick Pinoy”.
I really am. We may not have more advanced medical facilities compared to other countries, but the love, support and care that we receive from our friends and family are incomparable.
I am lucky to have been surrounded with many caring people who devote time and effort to help the needy and the sick.

Wishlist 2012: MAY Birthday Project on May 12
... In 2007, while travelling by car with my family, I was thinking aloud, “I want to celebrate my birthday with the kids in the hospital." Ideas kept coming out of my mind, but I told myself, “But we are not rich, how can we fund the event?”
Then I came up with a solution, “I will share my blessings, and these blessings are my friends.”
Sharing doesn’t really have price tags and the event does not need to be grand. What matters most is to share our hearts and make those patients happy. I want to make them smile even with the hardships they are in. And so this is the start of MAY Birthday Project! ...
(from my article Blessing shared - 06/06/2011)

The month of May is fast approaching and it's gonna be my birthday once again! It's not that I am excited to add another number on my age (age are just numbers anyway), but I'm sooooo excited for

Walk, Roll & Run for Rett
Take time to read this letter that I got a few days ago from Ate Pam Roman, the mother of Julia who is suffering from Rett syndrome:
Dear Friends,
As you know, our daughter Julia has Rett Syndrome, a devastating neurological condition which is still unknown to so many. Over the years, you have seen me advocate for her. Last year we started a support group called Rett Syndrome Philippines to bring Rett families together, provide support and advocate for all the girls and women with Rett Syndrome. Rett Phils. is a member of The Philippine Society for Orphan DIsoders, Inc (PSOD), a non-stock, non-profit organization dedicated to help kids with rare disorders. Rett Phils. is not a big group to attract potential sponsors and fundraisers. Yet every day, more and more people are coming forward to help us make a difference in the lives of our girls.

KCAT CAN: A little sacrifice
"And whenever you pray, don't be like the hypocrites who love to stand in the synagogues and on the street corners so that they will be seen by people. I tell you with certainty, they have their full reward!”

A little sacrifice

It was Holy Week of 2006, everything dawned on me — that I was so sick, that I could not move freely that I was so weak. My eyes were so blurry; I could not chew and swallow my food properly. I was already completely deaf.

Awesome February
February is the LOVE month & I'm in-love.. In-love with LIFE!
Sabi ko nga:
"Valentine's Day is not limited to romantic love. Not being in a romantic relationship does not mean one is loveless. Love is everywhere, love is free. It is a God-given blessing for us to give as well as receive." (KCAT CAN column, 2-14-2011)
And I am so blessed with super lovable people that makes my life sooooo AWESOME!
