MAY Birthday 2014 on May 17: Birthday Wishlist

It’s already summer time and the month of May is just around the corner! It’s going to be my birthday once again meaning MAY Birthday Project is here!!!

1st MAY Birthday Project in 2007

Since I was a child, I am always excited whenever my birthday’s coming because it means gifts, foods and party with my friends and cousins. Up until now, I still feel the same excitement because my birthday means there’ll be foods, gifts and family and friends to share and bring JOY to those who are in need.

In 2007, while travelling by car with my family, I was thinking aloud, “I want to celebrate my birthday with the kids in the hospital." Ideas kept coming out of my mind, but I told myself, “But we are not rich, how can we fund the event?”

I am rich with blessings though, blessings that I call family and friends, and so I’ve been sharing them with the patients of Philippine General Hospital (PGH) Charity wards.

7 years of gift-giving

Like most people who’s about to celebrate their birthday, I too have a birthday wishlist that I’ve been asking for 8 years now. Please give me a birthday gift from my wishlist and help us in making this year’s gift-giving event as successful as the previous years. Donate. Join. Support.

Wishlist 2013: MAY Birthday Project on May 18

Months before my birthday in 2007, I felt like God had been showering me with a lot of blessings which made me decide to give back something in return. I thought, "I want to celebrate my birthday with the kids in the hospital." Ideas about the event kept rushing in my mind; I want to do this and that but then again, I asked myself, "But we are not rich, how can we fund the event?”

A fund-raising event for the gift-giving at the Philippine General Hospital - 2 Pedia Wards, Neurosurgery, Spine Surgery, Pedia ICU, and hopefully both Pedia cancer ward and Ward 10 too (if the budget permits).

MAY Birthday Project 2010

My birthday wishlist was always the same for 4 years now and it will always be my wishlist as long as I'm alive! A week after my benefit birthday dinner, we had our gift-giving at Phil. General Hospital.. We shared all the items we've collected from all of my/our friends.. We got to share it with the patients of pedia wards (Ward 9 & 11), Neuro & Spine surgery (Ward 6) and Pedia ICU.. Sad and blank faces became happy again.. I got to share my blessings again.. Those blessings were not exactly the stuff that we gave them, but those who gave it — our families and friends (or friends of friends of friends...). They are my greatest blessing, along with my faith. I got to show them how my faith gives me hope. Habang may buhay, my pag-asa.. ;)

Last night was my Birthday Benefit dinner..

The place was full of PURPLE & YELLOW (my favorite colors!).. including me.. I'm wearing purple & yellow as well.. I blend with the tables, chair & the props which people avoid, but I did that on purpose.. I really want to blend in with the color.. but I still stand (though I'm sitting..haha) out coz I'm in a wheelchair.. Just like life, world & people.. We think that we are all the same, creatures living on earth & just one of many people.. But we CAN still stand-out as one person, right? We are still unique in our own way.. ;)

It's May 13!

Birthday ng aking INA

It's my mom's birthday today.. She's the last May Birthday Celebrator in our family.. So, belated Happy Birthday to my dad (May10), Maro (May 17) & Me my lola (May 20).. plus ako pa pala.. :P Belated Happy Birthday din to Ice, my godchild last May13 din..

For sure she'll read my blog, kaya Ma, Happy Birthday!

25 years of life!

Yey! MAY Birthday is over.. We were able to give gifts to Ward 9 (pedia), 11 (pedia), 6 (neurosurgery) & Pedia ICU.. I'm sooooo happy! I felt a lot of contentment again.. When we were done giving out the gifts, I kept on insisting that we have to have a group picture..

Ang saya kasi eh! I always say, I may not be able to smile, but I'm happy.. Super happy! Even though my vision is kinda blurry and it's difficult to see from afar, I can still recognize the smile on their faces and it really really brings so much joy whenever I see it. Every ward was filled with smiling faces, both the giver and the receiver.. Ang saya! Promise.

May = Party Time!

Inspite of the heavy rain, we still celebrated my birthday, our birthday (me, my mom, dad, maro & my lola) and my hearing last Saturday here at our house.. My friends and family are all here.. Some of my NFF didn't make it though.. It's ok. ;) Videoke and food galore! Yipee! Fun! Fun! Fun!

Tomorrow! Tomorrow!

Yes! My Cochlear Implant will be activated tomorrow at 11am in PGH (PNEI).. I'm so excited! I know you're excited for me as well.. So instead of crossing our fingers, let's put our hands in prayer position.. Pray for me ah! Thanks! Thanks!

I'm also excited for tomorrow-tomorrow.. That's on May17.. Hehe. It's MAY Birthday Project! Yey! We already started packing the gifts.. And the gifts keep on coming.. Dami! Ang saya!
