Book launching for a cause: RealLife - stories of ordinary Filipinos with extraordinary lives

Last Thursday (September 26), Tita Dolly Palisada sent me a message on Facebook about the launching of her book. At first I thought she was inviting me just because I knew that she was working on a book. When she asked me to prepare a short speech, that's when I realized that my story is also included. WOW! She interviewed me for The News Today earlier this year but I didn't know that it was for her book as well.

Mandaluyong City - YOU HEAR THE doctor’s story about another patient with the same diagnosis and that patient is now gone. You see teary eyed visitors in her room and how sullen their faces are. Your husband is not saying a word, yet you hear his voice screaming.

At first they say it is brain tumor. You brush it off. Everything has reasons, you tell your self. There’s nothing to be afraid of because God is on your side. She will have a surgery, the medical expenses will bloat, but life must go on for her because she’s young.

Neurofibromatosis on Pinoy MD (October 13, 2012)

Neurofibromatosis is a neurological disorder and causes benign tumors to grow on nerves that can affect the brain, spinal cord, nerves and skin. It can be inherited or it can happen because of a mutation in genes. And once you have it, you can pass it along to your children.

Veloso to deliver a motivational/inspirational talk to Physical Therapy students of Manila Central University in celebration of National Disability Prevention & Rehabilitation Week. God really really really answers. And if it's a yes, it sure is a YES! I asked for opportunity to promote my fund drive for my upcoming open-head surgery this April and He answered with so many "YES" with capital letters..

God answers

I often talk to God and pretending He is just beside or in font of me. I talk to Him like how I talk to my friends, kwento lang.. When I started my EYE CAN Fund-raising Campaign, I told God: "Lord, pwede pong humingi ng booth para makapag-benta ng items ko for my fund drive?" and He gave me not 1, but 2 answers! Last week, I told him: "Lord, OK sana if I'll be featured on TV again para ma-promote yung fund drive ko, kung ok lang po." and in less than a week, HE ANSWERED: "SURE"

P.S.: Last I was thinking (after praying), gusto ko ng Happy Lemon. Kelan kaya kami pupuntang Greenhills, para makabili ako. I wasn't really asking God, but He was listening to my thoughts & answered me again this morning: "On Tuesday." :)
