The aMAYzing Birthday Project 2012

When I stepped out of the car, I was really surprised with what I saw! The lobby area overflowed with people who were there to join the event. In our previous gift-giving events, it was convenient to meet up in the lobby area of the hospital and organize everything with the volunteers since we were only a little less than 40 people. This year, since we had filled up the main entrance area, we were directed to the PGH quadrangle and organize everything there nstead. Thanks to my family and friends who are the pioneers of my MAY Birthday Project.  They already know very well what should be done and they assisted the new attendees so well.

Everything felt surreal. The happiness I felt at that moment was even bigger than the previous gift-giving events that we had done in the past 5 years.

... In 2007, while travelling by car with my family, I was thinking aloud, “I want to celebrate my birthday with the kids in the hospital." Ideas kept coming out of my mind, but I told myself, “But we are not rich, how can we fund the event?”


Then I came up with a solution, “I will share my blessings, and these blessings are my friends.”


Sharing doesn’t really have price tags and the event does not need to be grand. What matters most is to share our hearts and make those patients happy. I want to make them smile even with the hardships they are in. And so this is the start of MAY Birthday Project! ...

We made a lot of faces (both patients & their guardians) SMILE once again. Thank you to everyone who supported us! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

We really scheduled my (very successful) surgery on an earlier date (last April) so that I would have been fuuly-recovered when the month of May comes and we could push through with my annual birthday gift-giving. God is great! Everything went more than what we have planned.

MAY Birthday Project 2011: My Wishlist.

One day, while I was randomly thinking, I had the greatest idea and shared it to my mom: "I want to celebrate my birthday on the hospital." I thought of Philippine General Hospital (PGH) since that's where I often have my hospitalization because it's cheaper and has my lot of good doctors. But I'm still lucky because we are able to afford the pay ward (private rooms) and the best doctors! I feel so blessed and I wanted to share my greatest blessings, not money, definitely not. My greatest blessings are my friends! MAY BIRTHDAY PROJECT was born!

25 years of life!

Yey! MAY Birthday is over.. We were able to give gifts to Ward 9 (pedia), 11 (pedia), 6 (neurosurgery) & Pedia ICU.. I'm sooooo happy! I felt a lot of contentment again.. When we were done giving out the gifts, I kept on insisting that we have to have a group picture..

Ang saya kasi eh! I always say, I may not be able to smile, but I'm happy.. Super happy! Even though my vision is kinda blurry and it's difficult to see from afar, I can still recognize the smile on their faces and it really really brings so much joy whenever I see it. Every ward was filled with smiling faces, both the giver and the receiver.. Ang saya! Promise.

the cochlear implant is on my wishlist for christmas.. and i got it! yey!

my mom woke me up this morning because of a super great news.. at first i was kinda pissed because she woke me up in the middle of a dream and i can't understand what she's saying.. eh syempre naalimpungatan.. she mentioned: dra. chiong, april7, schedule, etc. until i got it.. a bit.. i just saih: "ahh.." then i closed my eyes again and thought of what i just read from my mom's mouth (if i'm not deaf, the word is as simple as HEARD. haha).. this time it really really registered in my mind, then i blurted out: "MAKAKARINIG NA KO SA BIRTHDAY KO" yes! yes! yes! ang galing lang.. when i knew that i'll still be deaf on my birthday, i prayed and wished and hope that it's the other way around (i'll be able to hear on my birthday.. paulit-ulit naman!).. though it's ok with me if not.. what's important is i'm going to hear again.. this summer.. woohoo! i was super duper over happy about it.. then in the afternoon, we went to med-el office in alabang to finalize everything with ms. maribel and get the documents for pcso, pagcor, etc. ANG SAYA-SAYA! sabi ko nga: "i can't smile, but i'm happy".. happy happy joy joy talaga!

MAY Birthday

My Birthday's Over

MAY birthday is over! The month of MAY is birthday season talaga dito sa bahay.. Hehe. Feeling ko lang it was may birthday the whole month of May.. :P

so, ayun nga.. we also had a gift-giving at POC (Phil. Orthopedic Center) children's ward.. We distributed the remaining goodies from our pgh project.. we just maximized it to be able to reachout to the whole ward (around 80 children).. The day before, my mom went there to get their basic infos (name, age & condition na rin) so that we could give their basic needs nalang.. Para nga magkasya.. Basta we gave out everything to everyone.. Basic necessities, toys, goodies, etc..

Happy Happy Birthday!

Days before my birthday I felt excited na to blog about this.. Kaya lng ngyon naman I find it hard to start.. Kaya ganito nlng.. Ayan. May intro na.. ;P

Kaka-excite kasi yung mga tissue, toys, etc. Dami-dami! saya!

Kasi, once upon a time, my fam and I went to Tagaytay.. While on the way, bigla nlng may idea ako. sabi ko, "Sa hospital nalang ako mag-birthday!" Syempre todo explain.. ;P No, I don't wanna be confined again noh.. Wag! Yoko nga!!! It won't really be a party na party tlga.. Simple lang.. We'll just give out foods, toys, and kung ano man.. And wish granted!

i'm already 23! celebrated my bday last may13, though i was still sick i had a party. it was showered with a lot of blessings kasi bumabagyo. hehe.

the pastor from mang's church came over that afternoon & prayed for me. then that night, i was able to move my left foot. not totally but i was able to raise it. that was my bday gift! thank you Lord!

Things & Stuff

i was excited coz finally my tumor would be extracted after how many months.. but! a big BUT.. the SRS machine got busted! they need to fix it up and make sure it's 100% OK! so, again.. i'm waiting!!! haaayy..

it's been quite sometime since i blogged.. i've been blogging in my other account (ssshhh..!), my sentiMENTAL side.. haha! newei, may 13 was on friday.. friday the 13th baby! and it was the 3rd time since i was born.. yey! that's a not-so-badluck day for me.. hello?! it's my birthday! haha. i then realized.. whew!i got lots of friends.. haha. it was like a fiesta.. i got friends here, there, everywhere.. even at those who were weren't able to came.. hehe. luckily, there's enough foods for everyone.. drinks were fine.. not flowing but just fine.. it rained but it was more like a shower of blessing.. just light rain & it immediately stopped.. a lot of my friends were drunk.. haha! it was fun! fun! fun! another year.. twenty two! i'm not getting any younger! feeling young lang.. haha.

C2 Iced Tea

i slept around 8am yesterday.. re-desiging my blog.. answering surveys (for friendster bulletin).. uploading pix.. making taj's calling card.. and playing astro pop pala.. haha! then cathy (gingersnaps) came over around 11:30am.. i slept @ the sofa again.. so when she arrived i was still sleeping.. but that's the reason why i chose to there, so that i could immediately wake up when cathy arrives.. besides, i let kayze slept in our bed with talitha coz their door was locked after we went to kalentong to buy lugaw around 4am.. haha!
